Step out of your
Comfort Zone!
As the founder of the international artist-in-residence program LIA – Leipzig International Art Programme, I have been connecting international artists and cultural practitioners around the globe since 2007. As a cultural lecturer, curator, and writer, I’ve always listened with curiosity. How do people perceive us and German culture when they share time and space with us? These inspiring shifts in perspective have continuously motivated me, driving personal growth, exchange, and the desire to make a meaningful difference.
Working with people has always been my greatest incentive. It pushes me beyond my – and sometimes their – comfort zone. Collaboration can be deeply empowering: it sparks creativity, encourages improvisation, and brings joy through the exchange of laughter, ideas, and even controversy, something we need now more than ever.
The residency I founded has always served as an incubator for this kind of interdisciplinary thinking. I also believe that true creative freedom requires a safe and supportive environment – this is the foundation of all creation. Acting as a mediator to provide these secure grounds has been a central focus of my work. I accompany artists through their creative journeys, offer space to grow, and let go when it is time for them to take flight.
Curation,
cultural lecturing
and writing
-
I curate and organize exhibitions with a strong emphasis on contemporary, international artists. My work involves creating meaningful connections across cultures and artistic practices through thoughtfully curated shows. Each exhibition is a platform to challenge perspectives, foster artistic dialogue, and present innovative contemporary art in a variety of contexts and spaces.
-
Panels provide a dynamic forum to explore and expand conversations on contemporary art and cultural issues.
By moderating and organising discussions with international artists, curators, and thinkers, I create space for critical exchange on themes such as identity, politics, and artistic practice. These dialogues bring together diverse viewpoints, challenging perceptions and revealing connections between art and the wider social and global context. In doing so, the panels not only enrich public understanding of contemporary art but also encourage ongoing reflection and engagement beyond the event itself.
-
I engage as a speaker and moderator in talks and discussions that explore contemporary art and cultural issues globally. By facilitating exchanges with artists, curators, and experts, I aim to deepen public understanding and provoke reflection on themes such as identity, gender, and international artistic collaboration. My talks bridge academic, artistic, and public spheres to foster inclusive and critical dialogue.

My texts engage critically with contemporary art and its discourses. My writings explore curatorial theory, artistic practices, and cultural contexts, aiming to provoke reflection and deepen understanding. Through essays, catalogues, and articles, I contribute to ongoing conversations about art’s role in society, offering nuanced perspectives on identity, politics, and the global art landscape.
